Borinspawn is set four hundred years in the future and eight thousand light years from Earth. The story is of Remi Talonne’s journey to safety across the lethal wilderness of Borin. Remi has just survived a shuttle crash that has killed most of the crew and the passengers. He needs to help the other survivors to find safety at the fortified Halifax colony that was the shuttle’s original destination. Along the way Remi and the other survivors find ancient underground ruins that tell of earlier visitors to Borin. He also must survive the deadly life forms of the planet, especially the Basilisk.

While the story was decent set on a planet in the familiar Trader universe, I've never seen a book more in need of an editor or at least a good proof reader.Product details

Borinspawn eBook David Buck Reviews
Nice job of adding to previous works a good read overall it would be nice to add to this and clear up some of the other aliens involvment
Based on my perception of the teaser from I hoped Borinspawn would be the young adult version of David Drake's `Redliners'. It is not. What makes a good SciFi survival story? My favorites are the ones that strand technologically superior humans on a planet of indigenous dangerous creatures, but without the advanced weaponry, impenetrable transport machines and the other trappings of human technology, forcing them to survive by their wits. Borinspawn gives the stranded adults all the advanced technology they need so that the only real danger was stupidity caused by internal strife and mind attacks from the indigenous creature residing on top the food chain. Consequently, I found Borinspawn `borin'. However, I accept that others may not be as disappointed with the plot so it may be worth a trail read to you for 2 bucks.
